By 2009, more than 80 million hectares of Canadian forests were 3rd party certified to the CSA SFM Standard
First in the World
The CSA SFM Standard was the first national forest certification standard developed in the world.
There are more than 50 active public
advisory groups across Canada that work to improve forest management on
CSA certified forests.
New look to CSA SFM information
To accompany the launch of the revised CSA Z809 standard for sustainable forest management the CSA SFM User Group has produced new promotional materials for use with customers, public groups, trade shows and elsewhere. The materials include a brochure, a series of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and this newsletter. The FAQs respond to questions about the CSA SFM standard, what’s new in the revised standard, how the public is involved and how products from CSA certified forest can be sourced. The CSA SFM User Group website at www.csasfmforests.ca also has a fresh new look. Take a look, and download copies of the brochure and FAQs while you’re there.
